Who We Are

The United Nations Human Rights Organization (UNHRO) is dedicated to uplifting vulnerable communities across Sri Lanka. We operate independently of political affiliations and religious influence, focusing on humanitarian support, justice, and empowerment for those in need.

Our Mission

Our mission is to promote dignity, justice, and equal opportunity for marginalized communities. Guided by the principle “Duty Before Rights,” we empower individuals through economic support, vocational training, career guidance, and access to free legal advisory services. We strive to support the elderly, persons with disabilities, orphaned children, hospitals, and schools, while maintaining integrity, neutrality, and responsible action in all our programs.

Our Primary Objectives

Assist low-income individuals to uplift their lives.

Provide grants and loans at concessionary rates for self-employment.

Offer consulting assistance for unemployed individuals to obtain job opportunities.

Provide facilities for free legal advice when needed.

Fulfill food necessities for disabled and elderly individuals.

Provide nutritious food for orphaned children.

Supply necessary food and equipment for hospitals and schools.

Assist students to enhance their education.

Organize free medical channeling and blood donation programs.

Provide consulting for prevention of communicable and non-communicable diseases.

Offer vocational training to enhance talents and contribute to society.

Maintain independence from political parties.

Do not collect deposits from the general public.

Do not engage in religious conversion.

Do not operate as a primary or secondary educational institution.

"Act" means the companies act No.7 of 2007 and every other act, ordinances or legal enactment from time to time in force concerning companies which may apply to the foundation.
"By - Laws" mean by - laws of the foundation made in accordance with the articles.

"council of management" means the council of management constituted under the articles and where the context so requires or admits shall mean a meeting of the council of management or their body in the exercise of the authority given to the council of management by the articles.

We are committed to ensuring access to justice by providing free legal advisory services, while maintaining strict independence from political affiliations and religious influence. UNHRO does not collect public deposits, engage in religious conversion, or operate as a primary or secondary educational institution. Our humanitarian efforts extend to supporting the elderly, persons with disabilities, and orphaned children through food assistance and essential aid. We also contribute to hospitals and schools, organize medical and blood donation programs, and promote health awareness for the prevention of communicable and non-communicable diseases.
